Born in Amsterdam to a Caribbean mother and a Turkish father, Selin embodies
a rich multicultural heritage that shapes her innovative teaching approach.
As a licenced instructor of the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and
Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), Selin inspires her students to reach their
fullest potential through her keen musical ear, artistry, and attention to detail.
Her ballet journey began in Istanbul at the age of three, where she rapidly
excelled through RAD Grades 1 to 3. By age nine, she was accepted into Mimar
Sinan Conservatoire, and by twelve, she auditioned successfully for both the
Dutch National Ballet Academy and the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. She
honed her skills at the National Ballet Academy, performing in numerous
productions including Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker and as a principal in
Dansers van Morgen in Amsterdam.
Following her professional ballet training, Selin refined her artistry at the Lucia
Marthas Institute for Performing Arts and performed at Theater de Meervaart.
Her studies in Media and Entertainment Management at InHolland University
complemented her dance qualifications, leading to a significant role in event
management in Istanbul.
